Max Ferri Latin Jazz Series "“I have asked myself for a long time why the sound of some drummers was so unique and I got to the conclusion that in addition to the musicality, even the instrument is very important. The drumstick is the tool that links the drummer with the drums and it is the drumsticks that makes the sound unique. 5A and 7A drumsticks are good, but at the same time they are too specific, one is too heavy and one is too light and short for my way of playing. So which is the drumstick that can satisfy my personal needs? Latin Jazz are the drumsticks that give me what I’m looking for when I play: circumference, length, weight and the dimension of the tip are the main characteristics that make this model unique. Thanks to the small olive tip, you can get an interesting “ping” when you play on the light and dark cymbals typical of jazz drummers. The rounded bottom and the circumference help to develop e a very powerful sound volume like the sound of the afro-cuban timbales players . This is the reason why this drumstick has been called “latin jazz”. Depending on where you handle the drumstick, its length gives the possibility of developing more sound or less sound and this is very important especially when you have to play low volume . If you handle the drumsticks forward , you can produce a piano sound in a natural way.”
